Dropzones

The 'dropzone' or 'arena' is the name we give to the area of land in which the Raiders land. It is cleared from obstructions and cordoned off from the crowd. It is marked with an illuminous cross (X) to aid visibility from inside the aircraft, in freefall and while under canopy.

Hazards

The areas around an arena are usually quite dangerous for parachutists. Many arenas are set up in or around towns, with fences, buildings, trees and power lines spread across the landscape. The Raiders train hard to maintain their skills to allow safe landings inside the arena.
