Training

The team train regularly to enable them to conduct displays. Each jumper has over 200 skydives before joining the team, many now have over 1000 skydives. In addition each jumper must attend a training week at the beginning of each season to obtain the neccessary qualifications for display jumping. The 2010 RN Raiders Pre-Season camp was held at JSPC(N) at the end of April. Each team member completed their currency and landing accuracy training.

Qualifications

In addition to the 200 skydives, each member of the team must be 'demo cleared' which involves practicing landing in very small landing areas unlike the vast expanse of land available at a skydiving dropzone. An experienced military instructor will sign the logbook of each team member stating that they are accurate enough when landing, to participate in military display jumping. The dropzone party must be qualified in radio communications to allow them to coordinate the display with the aicraft pilot over VHF Radio. A number of members are also qualified as a Display Jumpaster which means they can be responsible for a Display without the Team Leader needing to be in the aircraft.
